Scratching my "bulk"head

What is a bulk head? I was looking at plans to do a fuge, piped inot a sump. Well there is a bulkead around the piping drilled into one of the tubs. I went to Lowes today to see about parts for it, but the guy had no idea what I was talking about when I said that. Needless to say I might be one of the only people in this area of Iowa doing a Saltwater tank, so I am sure this is new to him.
Anyways how do I go about sealing my connections on the pipe between the two?

You may need to ask the lfs about them, even your local hardware dosn't usually stock this critter. There are even different types of bulkheads available depending on what and how you decide to plum something.
Basically it goes into a hole that is drilled into your glass or acyrilic or whatever you have, there is a washer on one side and they just screw hand tight into the hole, you put the bulk head on one side and use the plastic nut to secure them together.

Jag3365, If all else fails and you can't find one go to a boat dealer and ask them for bulkheads for livewells that go into bass boats. They will know what you are looking for.:)

I've had better luck finding them at the local feed store (Big R) than anywhere else in this small Burg.

Sweet thanks a lot. I figured the local Lowes would have something in the plumbing department, but I will check out the farm store and boat store...thanks for the tips.
