No more underwater cameras for me either, after my brand new Sony housing flooded my Sony Digital Camera at 25'. Plus underwater photography is as expensive as saltwater fish. No more expensive hobbies.

http://www.snorkelpark.com/images/Sn...ater_new.bmpic but it is Snorkel Park in Burmuda. Spent entire day snorkeling. Numerous reefs, beach all to ourself. It is actually privite beach sorta. Swam literally 18 inches away from baracuda. Ocean Floor is a constant and then drops out in a revirse plateu. Drops 30 feet.

Jumped of 50 foot island, actually "rock climbed 12 feet", walked up hill for about 40 more. walk onto rock ledge, BOMBS AWAY! Also, very nice snorkleing. On the right there is a little cave action and rocks sepperating the current. Schools get up close and personal with you.

Stinky snorkleing, not many fish, basically beach. Yet, huge stingray blocked off portion. Feed squiq, 100's circle around you. It was scary but something I will never forget.

I don't mean to hijack or anything, my mom and dad know i obsessed with sw. They said for my 16th bday next year we'll go to hawaii and go snorkling. I said that sounds good minus the snorkling plus a scuba. So could I do this when I"m 16...the other thing is when I'm in the ocean I get terrified of being bitten by a shark. Do you have to worry about this when your on the reef or do they keep their distance
You can get certified as young as 10! (My husband is an instructor) Don't worry about the sharks! They really aren't that interested in you.... and, the first time you see one - you will be amazed and that fear will melt away

By the way, I got certified in AZ almost 10 years ago - there are some great dive shops there!

I am going to have to post a pic of me with a baby sea turtle when I get home. He swam right up to me and was swimming with me for about 15 minutes (I guess using me as protection) and was even trying to swim in between my BC and my body. I was able to pet the thing and everything. It was great. I will get the picture when I get home tonight and post it! Thanks guys and gals, now I am going to have to spend more of my money and go diving again (I havent been in about 6 months). Like my fish tank wasnt draining my wallet enough! haha
