Does any one know anything about sea apples? Are they reef safe , would they eat anything else in the tank? I saw an awsome one in a store and thought about adding it to my tank. Though I did think it was kind of large.
they are filter feeders and need high amount of plankon and nutrients, which isnt ideal for reefs, reefs focus on nutrient free tanks, which will cause death to the apples, and as DVS said they are VERY toxic to your tank.
In any size tank.....no matter how mature...they can be problematic. They are filter feeders and seldom survive long in most systems...and they can release toxins that will quickly destroy other life in the tank. They are not a very good choice for most home systems and I personally refuse to even consider one...no matter how kewl my wife thinks they are!
