noooo!!!!! do a search for "sea apple", or "OMG everything in my tank is dead!" lol, sorry, but yeah, sea apples are really one of those things that is best left in the ocean.

sea apples secrete or releases toxins that may kill fish in the aquarium. The species may release toxic compounds when stressed, or release toxic compounds when it dies it is recommended that only the expert marine aquarist, zoo, or research institution purchase this species. just not worth the risk IMO

Thanks guys i'll pass on it..I'm glad I asked before I bought it the LFS said they were easy to care for. They'll say anything for a sale.

From what I read they are easy to take care of BUT because Genus Pseudocolochirus are among the most poisonous of all sea cucumbers! They can be deadly

I wasn't ging to get it but now I will put him in a species only tank. I like to push the envelope. I think he will make an excellent addition to on of my DT.

my LFS has many and they are truly beautful if you are willing to be comitted and respectfull of what they are

IMO isolation is not pushing the envelope research and find what can coexists in the home aquarium I really don’t need any more reprimands so that’s all I will say

Ok lets start again you said you wanted to push the envelope then you said you were putting him in a tank why him self if im wrong im sorry but is that not what you said i would not rush to put him in your RT untill you got more info other then what you heard here

Better make the sea apple comfy. Like florida joe said, they release toxins when stressed and/or dying, and WILL KILL everything. Seriously, the atom bomb of our tanks, in one little creature. Unless you like starting over the tank if this little guy dies, I would spend the money on something else.

Yep, I agree with all of the above. This is one of the 45 animals on my "fish and inverts to avoid by hobbyists" list.
