I have a 90 gal Oceanic with a 20gal sump. I bought a Sea Clone 150 to utilize as a protein skimmer.
Keep in mind I have only been doing this for about 6 months
So, here is my question(s):
I put the 150 in the sump as stated in the directions and it seems to be working....but I have two issues. The first is that the water must fall such a distance that is splashes a little (which will cause salt buildup everywhere, etc). The second is that I keep reading that the skimmer doesnt need to be in the water more than 3-4 inches. If this is the case then I will have to set it on something in the sump?????
The Tech support was useless.....I knew more than this guy (an that is bad...haha!!).
I have read that you can cut a sponge around the outlet, build a ramp, etc.....to cut down on splash.
Any Opinions?
I know that this isnt the best skimmer on the market, but it fits my budget right now (after spending a lot of $$ on the tank, lights, etc,etc,etc,etc,etc....and so on....haha!!).
thanks!!!
