About a month ago I bought a blue-spotted sea hare to help with my various algae infestations. Within 48 hours it was dead. I took it back to LFS (gotta love their livestock guarantee!) with a water sample. After they determined my water to be fine, they told me there would be one in the next shipment and I could have that one. I go in to pick him up and find that he had gotten his head stuck in the tank divider, and the crab on the other side of the divider had enjoyed sea hare head for dinner! :scared: So, the next week they get another one in. I asked them to hold him for a couple weeks while I did some aquascaping renovations, so they put him to work in one of their tanks. He was living happily and thriving in there for a few weeks and I took him home Tuesday night. He wasn't moving around a whole lot on Wednesday night, and this morning (Thurs) when I checked the tank, I found about 1/3 of him laying on the sand next to rock!
Apparently, I am the Grim Reaper to the sea hare population. Don't worry--I will not be getting another one.
Any idea of why 2 sea hares would die in my tank?
My water parameters are:
pH 8.4
Amm 0
NO3 0
NO4 0
Ca 420
Alk 8
Temp 80-82
