Sea Hares

What can you tell me about these creatures and where can I find one? Do they really eat algae like the claims?

Im not sure where you can find one, My lfs has them occasionally.
But yet, they eat algae like crazy. And they actually move pretty fast for being a slug type thing. Mine eats more than the snails in my tank do.

how big do they get? ive heard we shouldn't keep them because they can get large. if we can keep them, then i wouldn't mine having one

Mine are huge, but as long as yu have food for them to eat, what does it matter?

best thing for mowing down hair algae....

get a big one. ive had 2 small ones (that i never saw eat any thing and finally vanished into thin air

) and ive had 2 big ones (around 5 or 6 inches long, both mowed down the forest of hair algae that had grown). make sur all your pumps and power heads have a protector so that the sea hare cant get into it. mine did and when i pulled it out it inked, like a squid or octopus.....lol. it lived, i must have just scared the ink (lol) out of it :hilarious .
