Dont really understand the "don't burn me" stuff...
I asked about your gph as you make it seem as though it is a rather high rate...
Most refugiums offer a slow, non impacting gph.

Ok. So with the lower water pressure/flow typically used for a refugium...that would be an ideal location for a seahorse, as long as other considerations at taken into account.

A refugium with the intent of a refuge would be an ideal place for a seahorse for several reasons.
Water quality should be good, water flow should be ideal, food source (pods, etc) should be good, and there should be numerous places for the seahorse to latch on to with the Caulerpa, etc within the refugium.
Basically, a refuge is just that...a refuge, a place for lower stress out of the main stream of the tank. It is also utilized for additional filtration, etc by many people based on the above conditions. Adding a seahorse to this refuge would be an excellent idea. If the refuge is below the tank or maintained in a crappy manner...then the person desiring a seahorse to put in anything, shouldnt be concerned in obtaining a seahorse to begin with based on their failure to maintain the refuge in the first place.
Many refuges are near the tank, or a hybrid of a refugium is co-located with the main tank. These usually have excellent water quality as they are using the water from the main tank, lighting of their own, etc.

I personally would set up a seahorse tank for them with nice hitching posts.. A fuge is really no place for seahorses....If your gonna keep them you want them in a place where you can enjoy them and watch them.....Plopping them in a fuge just to have them is cruel in my opinion......
Here is my SH tank, it doesnt have to be elaborate.. In fact I have taken out that ugly thing in the middle.. LOL

levewin, i completely agree with kimkissyfish and I hope you will too. She is one of the few that I would trust with accurate knowledge of seahorses. I stand by what I say, I would not recommend it but its your choice. If you need any assistance just post and the people with no lives (like myself) will try and assist.
