Has anyone using or had experience with SEALAB #28? I'm looking for an easier way to maintain water quality, there is so much stuff out there (additives/supplements) that it is sometimes confusing. HELP!!

I prefer to use calcium and alkalinity products to control the tankwater chemistry.
If you test - and set up a routine - it's not all that hard.
Plus - tossing in a block of something like this Sealab stuff - I don't have any control over how and when it dissolves, or how much calcium/carbonates it contributes to the tankwater.
Maybe look into the two-part additives like B-Ionic.
These are pretty easy - and do a fine job once you get the dosage amount down pat.

I tried the stuff and my water quality is much better, I even add C-Balance. I think it is good stuff, just buy it bulk online or else prepar to pay through the ceiling.

pufferfreak - where do you find it in bulk??? What size tank do you have and how much do you put in weekly ??

I used the blocks and bragged about my calc levels for about 6 months, until my calcium kept going up and up. My last reading prior to stopping was at 650 or who knows because my kit is only accurate to 500. I always thought I had a bunk test kit!
Anyway the blocks work great for initial start, but for the long haul I am starting to use seachem products and sort of following the "garf" recipie.
I will be holding on to my blocks for if and when I deploy and will tell the wife to just throw 1 in eveytime the last one disolves making it extremely easy on her.
My lfs mainly uses the big 1k blocks and a calcium reactor and thats it. Oh ya, you need to suppliment iodine as the blocks don't have enough for a reef system.
Your right the dosing is confusing and I guess that I'll be joining you in that learning curve.
Best of luck!
