Ok, this has nothing to do with fish etc, but with a horse.
I cannot wait until this movie comes out. I've read the book, a couple of times, if you haven't read it yet, you're in for a wonderful literary adventure.
Since I have gotten many horses "off the track" and re-furbished them, so to speak, and have been to the "backside" of many tracks and seen a little into that life, I know how this gets into peoples blood.
Looking forward to what you all think of the movie after you have seen it. But if you can, read the book first.

We have seen ppls tatoos, piercings, cars, etc, I guess we can tolerate someone expressing their interest in something OT once in a while. :)
mom says, play nice.

I'm looking forward to the movie. I haven't read the book, but I saw the PBS documentary on the horse and people involved. Very interesting. I always loved the racetrack. I live real close to Hawthorne and Maywood Parks but I prefer Arlington.

I LOVE Arlington Park, it's like Disney World, so beautiful. I was down there at 6:00 a.m. a couple of saturdays ago to look at some horses and afterwards sat and watched them breeze horses on the main track while we ate muffins and drank coffee. it was beautiful, sunny, warm and so much fun to just hang out and watch the trainers and "backside" people.
Unfortunately, didn't see any horses we wanted :(

Yes, that's a beautiful place. Too bad the boats are killing off the tracks. Have you ever been to any of the triple crown events? I went to the Kentucky Derby about ten years ago when Unbridled won at 30 to 1. Louisville is a great town, especially if you love horses and basketball.

Horses are beautiful animals and everything but i wouldn't want to see a movie about them. Horse movies are among the last lines of movies i would want to watch. This is a fish discussion forum and i dont think it should contain any material about movies, and especially one about horses.

But that's what is so great about this place... people come on this website not to just get help but to enjoy themselves in the process... sometimes talking about off topic items is good for a place like this.

Louisville is the best city on earth. :D OK, maybe I'm a little biased because I was born there and grew up nearby...
I would just appreciate it if people around here would pronounce it right. People in NC call it "Loowee-ville" or "Lewis-ville." I don't know why that irritates me as much as it does...but I have taught various people around here how it is supposed to be pronounced (or at least the way the people who live there pronounce it) :p

Thanks for the correct pronunciation.
In today's Chicago Sun Times, Rick Telander had a good article about the movie and the author of the book. The article is posted on the Sun Times website.
Here's a clown pic so no one can complain about the OT thread.
