I just switched to this salt and I'm in love!
Just want to hear other peoples thoughts on it. I've been on a rollercoaster ride with my tank lately, so trying to get as much info about this newer salt as possible, but so far, so good.

I havn't used the AquaVitro, but I've used Seachem salt in the past and really liked it (my LFS doesn't carry it anymore).
Mix up some batches and post how it reads (pH, calcium, alkalinity).

Costs vary depending on LFS, almost all in my area carry it now, price varies from $70-$95 depending on the store, most sell it for $85 (same store is also selling Tropic Marin 5G buckets for $85 to give a comparison).
It does make 225G.
http://www.aquavitro.com/Products/salinity.html This is the salt, just so we're all on the same page.
There is one place selling it online that I know of at the moment and it is selling it for $74.99, if you google "aquavitro salinity" you should see a posting on the first page titled "Seachem's Aquavitro Salinity NOW IN STOCK!!! :: name of store" if that helps.
So far I am happy with it. I'm waiting for new Salifert tests to come in and once they do I will start posting some numbers.

Some things I have noted thus far (only been using for 1 week - but have had to do some massive water changes lately for a nitrate issue):
Salt is far more concentrated and does take longer to mix
You can actually smell the potassium in the mix (and it does have a distinct "chemical" like smell do to being more concentrated - SeaChem has actually confirmed this and states that there is nothing to worry about)
Salt mixes better if you warm the water slighting before adding the mix
What I like is that every batch is lab tested and numbered so if you do have any issues and actually think you have a bad batch, SeaChem can confirm if you do or not. (which is nice because I was using Brightwell's and noted a lot of inconsistencies from one bucket to the next)
I love the bucket it comes in, LOL (seriously though, it's a really cool bucket)
In one week, three (or four, don't remember) water changes later, my coral color has come back in my LPS to be much more florescent, specially the orange and greens, my Ca and Alk have leveled out far better than with Brightwell's Salt mix, the polyps are coming out more on my SPS and my LPS is more open/puffy (Lobo is like twice the size, Trachyphyllia is much more puffy and has also doubled in size, Hammer and Torch are both looking much healthier in both color and extension of tentacles - they're fatter, instead of looking really stringy and unhealthy, I hope someone knows what I mean by that, and both the Blastomussa Merletti and Wellsi have never looked better since I first bought them.
I honestly did not believe my LFS when they said, "You'll notice changes instantly," but honestly, I really have. I would never have expected a change in the corals in less than a months time.
I know some one you will go, "but wait, didn't you say you had a nitrate issue?" Yes, I did, but we're using this salt in more than one tank, tanks that did not have the nitrate issue also were switched to this salt and the coral in them has improved just as much.

Wow, it's been 13 months since I switched salts. I still swear by it.
My purples (and all colors really) look excellent.
It's not taking as long to mix anymore. I don't know if they changed their formula slightly or what, but for quite some time, it hasn't taken as long to mix, and I've used it within minutes of mixing in a tank that desperately needed a water change at that moment.
Immediately after water changes (which I was doing weekly until recently - Husband is trying out a new water change system, I'll write up about that later), corals would puff up and some, like my acans and scolys would actually put out feeding tentacles.
I am beyond happy with this brand.

I think I'm going to try this salt!! I just found it on petxtreme.com and they have the large bucket that makes 225 gal for $97.95 + $4.99 s/h and the smaller bucket which makes 125 gallons for $56.95. Does that sound like a good price? I'm going to ask my LFS about it too..... I'd rather give him the money

I would really love to here your observations about it, good or bad....
Well, I've done a water change on all my tanks with a mix of the salinity and oceanic. Since I'm going from natural salt to synthetic (I think) I'm going to mix the 2 for a bit. I can't say whether I've noticed anything good or bad in either of my tanks. But I'm still optimistic. I do have a hair algae problem in one of my tanks and I'm curious to see if that improves even faster after a few more water changes and my seahorse tank always has cyano somewhere. I'll be curious if I have at least a temporary change in that. Otherwise all critters seem healthy and happy. I just hope to see a coral population explosion sometime soon.
