Has anybody used SeaChem water tests?
I want to test my water for it's Mg level. I can't keep my Ca or Alk levels up and I really don't have anything beyond Coraline algae to absorb it. Plus, I think it is preciping out...aka a dust storm in my tank. I was able to initially raise my Ca very easily, and I have my Alk balanced to Kip's scale, but the Ca will drop by more than 10 ppm in a day.
Anyway, I thought I would get a Mg test kit. The problem is that it seems the whole US is OUT of Salifert Mg tests. I can't find any in stock (either listed out of stock or I call and check before I buy and they are always out). One place told me it would be late summer before they get any in (and its only April
).
So, I usually buy Salifert tests, but I see that SeaChem Mg tests are available.
Are SeaChem tests any good and are they accurate enough for me to use to keep track of my Mg if I need to add some to fix my water chemisty?
