Hey guys
I'm researching dosing and how to dose for maintaining a soft coral tank. Don't worry I'm not planning on adding more soft corals than my one leather for a few months since my tank is only 2 weeks post cycle, I'm just researching.

My question is, what methods do you guys use to dose your tanks?

I like the look of this one because it is a few capfuls twice a week (or less maybe since I'll have soft corals and if I continue using this coral pro salt), and works out two bottles will last me 20-25 weeks ($30 each, so it seems economical).

I use red sea coral pro salt as well. It's loaded with trace elements. I use a 2 part solution mix but it's technically 3 parts so I can dose calcium, alk and mag separate without the trace elements.

I have no way of knowing if an excess of trace elements is beneficial or harmful so I've chosen this route instead.

The product you mention contains all of the calcium, alk, mag and traces in just 2 literal doses. So to me it would seem harder to control the individual levels since the rate of consumption is different for everyone.

That being said. I've been able to maintain all of that stuff with just the water changes using the same salt as you. But I have a very light load right now. only 2 LPS and 2 small sps frags for 150g of total water volume.

Thanks!
What brand do you use? I'm particularly researching costs.
I picked up BRS's 1 gallon 2 part kit.

Think I paid $80 for it. Came with some metering pumps for the containers and measuring cups.

Picked it up 2 years ago and at this rate it will last another 2-3 years.

But I expect some small changes to come now that I've begun stocking stony coral again.
