SeaClone 100 Protein Skimmer

I have a Seaclone and it skims well, but the o-rings are constantly having to be replaced. I have this figured out now, but I have lost quite a bit of water- soaked up conviently by my carpet- before I figured this out. I e-mail the company complain and they send me replacement o-rings quickly. I realize that they will lose effectiveness, but every third collection cup change is a bit excessive. I think a new skimmer will be next on my purchase list.

I know most people would say Seaclone is a crappy skimmer; however, I had one on my 55 gallon reef. I loved it for the price! had to empty the thing every other day. They do tend to have to be played with when you first get them...to get rid of the micro bubbles etc. but they do work. Good for the money if bought used! If buying new another story. Just my opinion!

for a couple of dollars more you can get a coralife super skimmer way better does a great job, better then expected. Mine pulls the blackest greenist crap i nevr wanted to see. once the break in is done, just unplug it empty/clean cup replace the cup and plug back in no more adjusting. Works for me.

if you mod them they work as good as the others mentioned. but should you really have to? plus, you can get them brand new online for under 70

I just replaced my 150 seaclone, which I believe is absolute garbage IMO. I have a ASM3 for my 110gal reef. Save your money and get a better one.
