My seaclone works best with the air alomost full open...Biggest problem I have is the airline clogging.. If the skimmer is the newer model (green box) you'll be happy with it...Mine is also on a 55g.

I just installed one on a new tank. I had to play with the adjustment for a day or so. Finally got a solid column of bubbles in the center of the column without "bubble overflow" in the downdraft. I think the valve is in the middle range. The skimmer was producing by the second day.

I've got one "new model" in my 40 gal. Reef. It's been running for three weeks and hasnt produced yet. I've played with the air and still nothing. If I turn it up to far I get way to much return air. should I just assume that theres nothing to skim??

My skimmer is really touchy. If I replace evaporated water it messes with the skimmer and I have to readjust. Kind of a pain, but it has done a good job of skimming since day one. Oh, and I have my valve almost all the way open. HTH. ;)

PIck up a real needle valve (standard air valve 50 cent type) this will be much easier to adjust than screw cap type. How long has the tank been setup?

have the same skimmer on a 125 gal. tank it works great but is very sensitive to any change to the water such as water changes and top off's .i added red slime remover that screws it up. such things stress coat for the fish will screw it up. i do like it over all. i keep my valve allmost all the way open works best
