SeaClone Protein Skimmer - Thoughts?

I have heard a lot about various protein skimmers. However, for me, space is limited right now given my current set up. The SeaClone seems to be fairly compact, hanging on the back of the tank. I have a 28g ViaAqua, looking to upgrade over the next several months to approximately a 100g tank. The SeaClone is supposed to be good up to 100g.

What do you think?

How many gallons is that thing good for? I know it says up to 100g... but does anyone know the complete range for it?

I GOT ONE on my 40, in 1 week, it pulled 1 full cup of dark green / brown sludge, and been pulling all kinds still... not sure how much better the better/more $$ ones are but im happy with my investment so far

I use one on my 30 gallon. It does a decent job, but it requires a lot of adjusting to keep the production stable. I would say it is worth taking a look at if the tank is less than 55 gallons and you have the time on your hands to mess with its air/water ratio quite often.

I've got 1 on my 55 and am very happy with the performance.
A 100g maybe pushing it a little though for the seaclone.
I think I would look at different options for a 100g.

I have one in my 50g reef and it does a good job though I don't think it can handle a 100g tank. One word of caution though this thing is very intrusive as a HOB as you will end up with a large filter pad and a maxi 1200 on the back of your tank, and that is not the most astetic appearance. I started out with mine as a hob but quickly put in a sump and moved it out of sight

Buy a BAK PAK. I was told by several (so called) experts that it is much better than a SeaClone. I have a bak pak and it is doing great.

Thanks for the advice! By the way, I have to say it...I find it ironic that you are a reefer, and you live in a place called Fish Kill...:D
Actually, I'm from Long Island originally...
I appreciate the help.

I wouldn't get the seaclone, I have a 100 and dumps fine bubbles into the tank. Before that I had a visijet in the tank and same problem only worse so I bought the seaclone. What and Idiot I am. Now all I want to do is dump this one but you got to have a skimmer working. Still gets a lot of goo though but has periods of no foam. Did a 10 gallon water change and stop producing foam again. This is normal it should pick up again when the lights go to lunar at sunset.(on timer) I would get the Aqua C but at about 168 retail I'm stuck for a month or so and I will try to sell this one for 20 bucks or so. :happyfish
