I have jacked with mine for almost 3 weeks now. I have messed with the valve constantly. I get bubbles in my tank unless I close the valve all the way. I can open it, let it sit, then open it more and the next thing you know my cup is full of clear water. If I run it with the valve open some it will skim jsut fine but I hav a million bubbles. I also have 2 Emporer 400s hanging off the back.

a a auired a 2nd hand seaclone that was 4 motnhs old; we noticed that is was missing small 1" diameter clear plastic tubing; file a it attaches to where the inlet tube of the sea clone connects w/ the PH for the seaclonel; the new one we had gotten from petwarehouse came w/ it; we cut a piece from tubing used as sustrate vacuum; not problem w/ the bubbles on the used sea clone anymore
course the other thing to consider w/ skimmers is when you add chemical additives to remove chlorine that have that stress coat stuff in it; it makes your skimmer go haywire; should not add chems that have that stress coat stuff

Jacob,
I found the missing piece and the box if you want them. I am glad it is working for you. I hated the darn thing. I never could get rid of the bubbles.
Good luck to you all. I honestly wish you the best with the seaclone. I would not buy another, no matter how inexpensive they get.

I also have a seaclone. It works well, but makes bubbles out the butt.I have played with it endlessly and i am still not happy.Between the skimmer and the overflow return line. I don't know which puts more bubbles out into my sump.An then to the main tank.Since I can't stop the bubbles from the skimmer.Does anyone know how to stop the bubbles from the overflow return line?

cyn, sure wish you had been able to start out w/ the "newer" model & that you had bought online instead...kind of feel like I cheated you out on that deal...but trust me, it's a lot better than get ripped off on those dang airstone/air pump driven ones..those things are just junk...
