SeaClone

I have had my tank set up for 2 weeks now. I was wondering if I should see some gunk in my seaclone. How long does it take to break it in? I have 2 fish in my tank.

If your tank has only been up for 2 weeks your protien skimmer probably has nothing to skim right now. I didn't start running my skimmer till about 2 months into it. There is some arguement out there about whether the skimmer slows down the cycling process or not. So check the previous posts on this board and decide for yourself. ;)

I agree it is still too early to skimm your tank. I mean to see anything yet anyway. I had my skimmer on when I cycled the tank and saw no difference in the cycling. It took no longer and was no shorter. Some will say it is not good but I dont think it matters. I also have the sea clone on my tank And its doing great. 46 gallon bow front fowlr tank. And It did take a feww weeks before it broke in, Anyway good luck..
