I have a seaclone 100. I know that a lot of ppl dont like them but thats what I got and I am stuck with it. Can anyone tell me why it isnt picking up antything. Also, what the best way to open the valve for maximum working power.
Thanks,

I got the same one the other day, either my water is clean as hell or it's a piece of s*#t!!! I opened the valve all the way to the last thread just so it is barely fastened, let me know if you ever start accumulating anything lol!!!!!

In comparison to other skimmers, Seaclones are not widely respected. A search on any board will yield very few favorable comments. It's just a low end skimmer that's very hard to dial in. Not sure how much room you have between the tank and wall but if it's in the 4 inch range, a Remora would work great on a 55. You can mess with the Seaclone but doubtful you'll get great long term results, particularly when you compare it to other units.

I can! Because SeaClones are pieces of crap!
Mine was on for two weeks and skimmed NOTHING, so I took it back. My Remora started collecting some nasty foam in about 12 hours.
