Seahorse feeding

I have a couple of more questions on feeding my yellow seahorse. From my previous threads, you may recall that I got a yellow seahorse from SWF a couple of weeks ago. It took a little while to secure a supply of live ghost shrimp, but I have done so. The seahorse has been eating well for the last two weeks.
I have noticed that there are always a number of live shirmp hanging around the tank, in various rocks and crevises that the seahorse never seems to find. ALso, it is hard to tell when the seahorse is eating or not. The other day I had an idea.
I put a 1 quart tupperware container in the tank and got the seahorse to swim into it. I then took out the container with water and seahorse and fed a couple of shrimp to the seahorse. It snapped them up in no time. Is this OK? Is it too stressful? I always leave a few shrimp in the tank so the seahorse can hunt. But, this way, I know it is eating.

A method like that should be used soley as a last resort only if a seahorse isn't eating for a fact. By moving them around alot you are indeed, as u said, stressing out hte seahorse. I would advise not to do this.
Seahorses will hunt for their food, well somewhat. They won't go all out for it but they will glide, look into holes and that kind of stuff. I am sure that it is eating the shrimp whether or not u r seeing it. Shrimp will come out at nighttime to look for their own food, i'm sure the seahorse will take advantage of that too.:p

I agree, this is a bad idea. Seahorses are easily stressed and this horse has already suffered quite a bit . Try to keep his/her environment as stress free as possible.
I keep a variety of species and I can tell they are eating by simply observing everyone .
