Seahorse help

I have a 54g bowfront corner tank. It is already established since I bought it from someone as a reef tank. I have 2 yellow clown gobies, some snails, and some blue leg hermits ( along with frogspawn, zooanthids, & corals) I am in the process of trying to purchase plants since I have read seahorses need them to hold onto. I have ordered some ferngrass from swf.com and am waiting for kelp to come in stock.
Can anyone tell me a good online place to purchase seahorses? I am in a rural small town in OK, and there is nothing like that around. Also, after reading these posts, I do not want dwarfs anymore. I did not realize they stayed so small. (maybe another time with a smaller tank) BUT I also don't want a 12" seahorse....any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

The Kudas here on SWF are great! I haven't ordered horses from anyone else online, just ponies(dwarf seahorse). I usually buy my horses at my LFS.

Before you dive into buying seahorses, please do research on the subject. Seahorses are not something newbies should get into with little to no information.

No, I have never done seahorses, but have always wanted to. I have been researching them for months. I am in the process of buying plants for them right now. I have fern grass on order, and still waiting for kelp to come in stock. I do not want to buy them until I am 100% sure my tank is set up properly. I also did not know that they require cooler temps. My tank runs about 82, of course this is summer in OKlahoma...lol...but I will need to maintain a 77temp...according to what I have been reading.
How big do the kudas get?

can you tell us what other corals you have? I only ask because you mentioned Frogspawn...which is usually considered a no-no with seahorse tanks. Horses, as I'm sure you know, are very slow and methodical swimmers, and large LPS corals in the Euphyllia genus like torch, frogspawn, and hammer corals are likely to sting seahorses. I'm not saying it's never been done, I'm just suggesting that it's not the greatest of ideas.
Polyps, mushrooms, and most SPS corals are generally considered seahorse-safe, since they lack long tentacles. Sea Fans and Gorgonians are also great for horses to use as hitching posts, but these too are considered as slightly "advanced" items. Gorgonians do not have the ability for photosynthesis, and must be spot-fed with live phytoplankton every few days. They also need to be kept in a current strong enough to keep algae from growing on them, yet soft enough to keep the horses from flying away!

A 54G corner unit aquarium will be a great home for most seahorses. In seahorse tanks, the height of the aquarium is just as important as the footprint, and unless I'm mistaken, a 54 gallon corner unit is, what, around 22 inches tall? Sounds like a good environment. Just out of curiosity, what kind of filtration is set up on this tank?
You sound like you're on the right track. I'm glad you're researching before buying....I've seen too many people in my LFS who don't subscribe to that theory. There's a wealth of good information on this site, including a very good article about what animals and corals are safe with seahorses. There are also a few other dedicated seahorse websites which have virtual volumes of information.

I have never read anything about frogspawn being uncompatible...I have xenia, a colt coral, red mushrooms, a featherduster, and different zoanthids. I have a cascade 700 filter, and a Seaclone protein skimmer for a 75 gallon tank. And yes it is about 21-22" tall. I also have 2 yellow clown gobies, 2 (nemo) clowns (I know they are questionable) blue leg hermits, snails, and 2 peppermint shrimp.
Believe me I have been reading and reading.....BUT sometimes you get mixed info. So I really appreciate any answers and suggestions.
