seahorse question

Hi i want to get a seahorse for my boyfriend for christmas from our local petstore.Theh seahorse is black and its about 3 inches.My boyfriend has a 40 gallan tank thats doing really well, he has several peices of coral and 2 anemones.I wanted to know if the seahorse would be okay in his tank. the other fish know not to get near the anemones, will the sea horse know that?

It is also a bad idea to buy any livestock for someone without clearing what you are buying with them first. I know it would be a nice present, but if you don't know what the reefkeeper has planned for the tank you stand the chance of buying something that is not compatable with their plan.
How about a gift certificate to the fish store?

well he had a seahorse a few months ago but one of his crabs clipped its tail and killed it.He immediately took the crab out.I just dont remember if he had the condy anemone then or not because the seahorse was doing well in his tank.he had it for about 5 months before the crab got a hold of it.
