Seahorse tank???

something small - maxijet 400 alone, or maxijet 600 with Hydor FLO Rotating Deflector or a or Hydor Koralia nano with mesh cover (dont want any tails to get caught.)
Now, what is the temp of your tank right now. You are prob not going to need that heater. Temps need to be about 74 to 76 degrees. you may need to invest in a chiller instead of a heater.

I was thinking about getting the Koralia nano. Might have to order it though as I don't believe anyone sells much nano supplies in the area. We'll see. Tank right now is at 76. heater was cranked up for a cold front that came through. I was thinking about turning it off to see how the temp would react. It's been all over the place but settled between 75 and 77

Seahorses finally came in. After bugging the gentleman at the fish store, he finally brought in his personal tank raised seahorses. Last night, gf decided she wanted to change the rocks in the tank so it doesn't look exactly the same. We purchased them today and got them acclimated. They were in the tank for all of 10 seconds and found the bubbles. They have been in the tank for an hour now and have not stopped playing. they are swimming upside down against the bubbles and just surfing around the tank. I will hopefully have some pictures up in a couple hours

I have considered setting up like a 10g dwarf tank but i have a question, do they spend most of there time hitched to a rock or something, or do they swim around most of the time

just hitched most of the time. I have 1 that swims around a lot but I think it's his personality. My other 4 do not move from the plant they are in.

Something didn't seem right with them. I did a little more investigating and discovered that we have 2 females and not one male and one female like we had asked for. I will not be able to talk with him tomorrow as I will be working all of friday and won't get off until saturday night. I don't know what we'll do. Both of mine have spent only 10 minutes on a hitch and the rest of the time swimming. They both eat very well and even tried to nibble on some krill.

Thats what i thought, Dont take this the wrong way or anything just offering my opinion, but i dont see what is so appealing aboout them if they just sit there and dont really swim around. I think there cool looking, but a liitle boring.

If you think they are boring, then don't get them. I might not have studied rocket science in college but that just seems like common sence to me

You may still have 1 male and 1 female. When I asked for mine I asked for 1 male, 1 female and one, I didn't care. I thought for the longest time they were all female, even posted a couple of pictures and everyone agreed they all looked like females, but as they grew the one the breeder told me was a male actually developed a pouch. I think it's really hard to tell when they are small, especially when they are your first horses.

it was either a sea horse or a copepod tank so i can keep a mandarin in my 30g. Im going with a mandarin

How do you feed your horses if your at work for almost 24 hours?

I am a firefighter. I work 24 hours on and 48 hours off but I have a refresher class for my structural collapse cert. tomorrow
