i have never had seahorses but would like to know how many gallons they need? Could i keep 2 or more in a 29 gall

How many gallons they need would depend on the species.
29 gallons is good for all the seahorses I know of. (those that don't get more than 12" long.)

Why not start with one to begin with... Not from my experiences but from a couple of people that I know, seahorses are kinda delicate, so you may wanna test it out with one to begin with, and if he's happy, add a second... I'm just not too sure about a third one though, that seems to be kinda pushing the envelope...
