Mmmmm, no...I've read that clowns will be too aggressive with their eating to be in a seahorse tank, especially a smaller tank. Clown gobies on the other hand would be fine.
Are you planning on setting up a seahorse tank?

agree with lisa...clowns are very territory and would most likely be a bully to the seahorses, as well as out compete them for food...Rykna here has expereince this first hand iwht her 90gallon tank she has.

Though I do not have much experience with sea horses, I would also recommend against clowns in with a sea horse, especially in such a small tank.

Seahorses do best in a species only tank. They are very slow at getting to food. If others are in with them then they have difficulty getting their food before the other fish. I believe there are a few fish that can go with them. Wait for ponigirl or alyssia on that.

Yes, I am planning on setting one up for my son. I was wondering what fish I could put with them other than a Firefish Goby.

Unfortunately, I would not agree with putting a seahorse in a tank under 20 gallons at the minimum.
Most of the species that would be practical and not on the difficult to care for list, would be too big for a 14 gallon....they should even outgrow a 20 gal.
How old is your son?
My own experience was that, while she did think they were cool, my own daughter thought that the seahorses were, overall, pretty boring.

I am sure that he would enjoy watching a clownfish and some interesting inverts, like a cleaner shrimp.
These will be more active and easier on you.
Do you have other saltwater tanks?

Yes, I have a 75 with several tangs and inverts.

I agree, clwns and ponies dont mix.
I have a clown gobie with mine, and they get along good.
in a 15 gal, a smaller species such as kuda might be ok, but it is recomended a 29 gal for 2 horses. one by its self may get lonely.

Is there a website I can go to to find out more info on Seahorses? Salesman at local store claimed a 14 gallon Nano would be big enough. I wanted the 24 but my son's room is on the 2nd floor and 14 gallons in a 9 year olds room is scary enough lol
