I bought a 44 gallon. It has just finished its cycle (with damsels)..finally!
The first day i had the damsels they got ICK, or so my lfs says. So they told me to treat with Rid-ICK for 3 days.
Well the seals turned turquoise. WOW, am i pissed. I wanna just tear apart the whole thing.
Is there any chance this will go away?
Is there anything i can put in the water to make it go away?
If I reseal... how long does that take to dry?
I cannot stand it like this, help me please!!!

We put that #$%*! in our tank, because the lfs told me to. BIG mistake! It's been over 2 months, and the seals are still blue. They have faded a little, but still a definate blue color. seems like the company would put a big warning on the bottle, but then people probably wouldnt buy it I'll just have to get used to it, I guess. Too bad it didn't turn them green, at least they would match the living room.LOL

Maybe i put this in the wrong forum ... but i just thought its about an aquarium, so it should be in equipment?

As far as I know there is nothing you can do,outside of replacing the silicone. This is a reletivly easy thing to do,but you must empty the tank to do it.The new silicone will be dry in 24 hours.

So i can just scrape off the silicone with a razor then do the tape thing like you said before to keep it 1/4" on each side and then re-silicone. Which silicone do you recommend. Thanks

I think you'd be making a mistake to scrape all of the silicon out of the tank. You may never be able to get it to seal properly again, not to mention having to start all over with your tank. I say just live with the blue silicon, and know not to use that stuff again. It will probably fade eventually anyway.

Make sure there is nothing else to do before you tear your tank apart. If you make a slight mistake on resealing it then it might blow out later. Risky business in my opinion.
