Seaweed feeding question...

I like to feed my Tang dry seaweed on a veggie clip. The only thing is, it makes such a mess Even if I only leave it there for a few hours, it will be floating around the tank all day

Is this a problem, or can it effect the water in the filter?
If so, how can I allow him to graze on some greens, without it getting all over the place? Thanks in advance...(Ive been saying that a lot lately)

I also feed my tangs dried seaweed or marine algae, but have never been a fan of leaving stuff in the tank. I tear it into small pieces and feed as between meal snacks.
Live rock will halep too--they love to pick, pick, pick. Gives them something to do.
