I secured a piece of red algae (seaweed selects) to a piece of my live rock and I was wondering how long I can leave it in the tank. Will this stuff foul the water if it is in there too long. My fish seem to like it. Thanks.:notsure:

How big a piece did you put in?? The fish usually will eat it if there isn't to much. But just to be safe, I only leave mine in overnight then I change it out. I have a clip and there's always a little the fish can't get to.

You should remove any left over seaweed selects after 24 hours. In my tank, a 3" x 3" square is gone in less than five minutes.

You may never have to move it- I was feeding my fish some on the sunction cup and my snails would just crawl on up and eat it in an hour, it took them a while to learn this.

For some weird reason there are red, brown and green seaweed selects.
From what I have read the times are like this:
Red: 2-hours
Green:24-hours (I use green).
Brown:6-hours
