I went just a few months ago. they are adding a new ride that is supposed to be opening this week. as far as things to do it is mostly shows but there are some spots where you can touch the animals(dolphins and rays mostly). one thing to do is when you get there map everything out that you want to do. everything has time slots for the shows

If you are going with the intend of thinking your going to see wall to wall reef tanks, you will be horribly disappointed. There are only a couple reef tanks, the good one is tucked away in a gift shop.
If you go as family, to see whales/dolphins/sharks, and ride the rides, you will definitely have a good time.
The new ride is Manta, a flying roller coaster. There was a preview session May 5-10 were they allowed people to ride it, but the offical opening is May 22 (this Friday).

Not sure how you're coming down, but if driving, consider spending a day in Atlanta, and go the Georgia Aquarium. Probably the finest one there is. You will be blown away.

You'll have to give till tonight for a pic. The thread was on another site where I can't search at the moment

But they are located in the Journey To Atlantis giftshop (next to kraken).

Sort of, they're those half covered seats with awnings and some of the tank is exposed, type deal. Pretty sure they don't do the shows with immediate weather.
Yea the weather as been atrocious. Inbound PM too.

Since im in the military me and girlfriend go all the time, (military and family get in free) there are two cool reef tanks behind the gift shop check out counter in one of the shops. But its really no different than some of your guys tanks at home. But all in all i love sea world, I dont know if they still do the free beer or not, but i went they did..

Going to have to agree with that. I moved to Daytona Beach from Atlanta two years ago. Last time I went back I checked it out and WOW!
They have this like (hard to explain) twenty foot glass wall with like an inverted quater-pipe at the top. The waves crash on the curved glass and its basically like a 15-20 foot deep reef with like big groupers and even small sharks. I am new in this hobby, but have no clue how they even do something like that. I wasn't sure if it was techically a reef or not but there was def hard corals in there...no tiny zoa or mushrooms of course that I could see, but it was sick. Also, several ridiculous smaller reefs. Also, 2 whale sharks
