sebae anemone question

Hi everyone!
I have an anemonie that I am pretty sure is a sebae. It came on a piece of live rock I got and the anemonie was the size of and eraser head about 4 years ago. I thought it would be a polyp but is now over a foot around. It's pink with purple tips, but the perculuar thing about it is it has suction cups on its underside of its disc? It's definately an anemonie, it moves eats like an anemonie and hosts with a clown and is sticky like an anemone. If anyone could tell me if it's a sebae or other kind of anemonie that would be great! I love it, its soooo beautiful. I'll try and take a picture in the future, my cameras out of commission right now. Thanks again, alison:happyfish

Hmm. Sounds like a sebae considering the coloration...different color tips and all. As far as suction cups...that sounds a little strange. All of the sebaes I've ever kept or seen have the one single foot like most other anemones. Maybe it is splitting and has two feet at the moment???

Hi guys, my anemonie has one foot, and is shaped just like a normal anemonie, but the underside of the disk has these sucker like things on it, that grab the rock around it. Sometimes when this anemonie is close to the glass I can't clean the glass because it's sucked onto the glass & the suckers are VERY strong! I'll just have to get my camera serviced so you can see. I've asked Bob Fenner directly & he doesn't even know? Maybe it's a coral after all or some unknown anemonie or something. I just thought I would give sebaes a thought since they are the only ones I haven't had. Thanks for all your input, Alison:happyfish

i looked at the base of my sebae and i dont see what your describing on mine. mine prefers to lodge his base in the rock.
i have to admit i am interested and would love to see a picture of the anenome. post a pic asap im interested thanks

I believe that is a sabae. I have one and I do know what you are talking about, though I can't say mine has ever stuck to the glass that tightly. Here is a picture of mine, about 18" in this picture. I must say a sabae would be a very unusual hitch hiker on LR.
