I have had these two sebae for about 3 months or more. The one in the first picture came from SWF.com, was totally white with the purple tips. It has now doubled in size and is brown. Which I love and I know is healthy . My little black clown finally calls it home, loves to eat and seems very happy where it is in the tank, sand bottom and it is attached to a rock. 30g hex. with 130 w coralite. So that means it has a total of 4.3 watts per gal.
The one in the second picture I have had about a month longer. Is still totally white, small not growing, eating good though. Seems to like where it is, half way up in the rocks, no one is hosting it yet, I hope one of the clowns will start. 55g reef with 7 watts per gal.
So why oh why is the one with 4 watts doing better then the one with 7 watts? All water parameters are excellant, feed them the same, same everything just different tank and different watts per g. I would of thought the one with 7 watts should be the one that is doing the best. But not so. Any ideas? Oh and all lights are about 3- 4 months old as I bought them all at the same time.

Both tanks have the same coralite PC , lunar lights. Everything, water, feed and lighting are the same. It is very weird esp. when everyone says they won't do good under PC and need higher watts to live.
the one under less watts is amazing, tenacles are fat and nice sized, my little clown just love is, the other one's tenacles are little and not plumped up, although sometimes it is, I can't say it always looks bad, it does plump up and looks good except being white. I think maybe just maybe I noticed a little brown in one of its tenacles.
The one in the 30 hex is actually a lot darker looking then the picture, the flash kind of fadded him out.
It's a little mystery to me. :notsure:
