Seeking advice on the startup of a 75 FOWLR

This thread is actually for my dad, although I'm in the process of setting up a 135 reef. My dad wants to set up a 75 or 90 FOWLR and possibly some inverts in his bedroom. He's relatively new to saltwater tanks and was very hesitant on using Live rock. Well he finally agreed to use it, but he doesn't want to have to buy a sump or fuge....basically just wants his display tank. I have 2 questions. 1) If he was going to keep some inverts, what type of lighting would be a good fit? 2) Since he doesn't want to get a sump or fuge, what would be the best way to make up for this....really good skimmer?

check out my build in the aggressive section. IMO either talk him into doing it correctly or go smaller. Skimmer will have to be a hang on the back. His tank will actually look ugly without a sump to hide everything.
