I have been looking for these, are they just not readily available yet? What are they going for right now?

Is that the 800ish GPH model? In your very limited experience with the Seio, how would you say it compares to a Tunze Stream?

aren't the seio's made by RIO? I wouldn't touch anything made by RIO with a 10ft pole. I've heard too many stories of burning pumps leaking oil and other contaminants into the tank. I also heard they are just old version rio's with changed impeller and faceplate but I'm not sure.

--,
Yes, its 820gph. I've never used a Tunze, from what I've read were talking about two different pumps. Two different prices, two different gph. It'll take two of the SEIO's to equal the smallest Tunze stream. As far as price goes, Two large SEIO's equal one small Tunze stream (About)

No, their made by Taam they make the RIO. Its not the same pump...I know all about the RIO, I've had one fail.
Don't bother with your pole, this pumps not for you.

Hey, how are these pumps doing for you at this point? I am thinking about getting 2 for the top of tank as PH types. I'll get the smaller pump as I have a only 72gal. Would this be overkill with gph? I need some more flow going at surface and top.

Well, you said elsewhere, "my 820 freezes up every 4 weeks, or less. I have to remove it and soak the impeller in vinegar, then take the impeller apart so I can get the whole ceramic shaft.." so I guess its a no go.......

I like the pump I just don't like the ceramic shafts. Most people don't have this problem but then most people don't run a Kalk reactor and Cc reactor. I still use it and I'll probably buy another in a few weeks..

I'd get the bigger one. The flow they put out its more of a wider steady flow.

I'm think 2 620s facing each other on opposite ends of the tank. That will be a substanial increase from the maxijets 1200s in current use.
They seem pretty bulky, are they?
My tank size is only 72-- 4' wide.

my tank is also 4' long...I still say the bigger 820's..
Yeah, probably about twice the size of a MJ1200, maybe a little more

that's it..right below the label where the slotted area is, that comes off along with the bottom part. You can use that but its like putting a elbow and a powerhead, its just not needed...

You have to hand those off the side or back right? Meaning with a saddle bracket? I have a canopy, so I wouldn't be able to do that.

Do you think they can handle a timer? Or will it burn it out sooner. I know they are new, you might not have that info, yet......

Salty, the tops look like the one that I've been looking at, but the bottom looks different to me. Those look more like the Turbelles. Kissing cousins, yeah, but not the same.
BTW, thanks for those shots.

Beth- you will want to go with the bigger one, I have the 820 in my 58gal and the flow pattern is great, in fact I may get one more.
I have not had any problem with the impeller. I drip kalk 24/7 and maintain 9dkh and 420 Ca.
I have heard that Taam does not recommend they be run on a timer, but they are developing some sort of controller and some larger pumps. But I don't know the specifics on them.
They come with a bracked with suction cups so you don't have to hang them off the side of a tank.
