Seio vs Tunze

I need to purchase some powerheads for my 120 and wanted to know is one better than the other. The tunze is alot of money and i guess you still have to spend 50.00 on a mount. I am thinking about the seio 820 or the tunze 6060. Also what is the best placement for these pumps and should i get two. One for each end of the tank. Thank you for all the help.

Check out the tunze 6045 1180gph for 100 bucks with mounts. I have one very nice unit.
Also the koralia are out they are 50 bucks with 1200 gph with nice mounts as well. I just ordered one so I don't know how they will be yet.

Seio's are nice, but the experience I've had with them, Next time I would just put down the money for the Tunze. But biggest issue I've found with the seios are they don't come back on when they are turned off. So your power goes out, when it comes back on, chances are the seios will not comeback on by them selfs. You have to shake them or turn start the impeller by hand. When they are running they are great. But keeping them running is the problem. You also can't put them on controls that would switch the pumps on and off, like for different movements. or feeding, and at night, Seios you have to use a seio controler, that powers them down from 100% to 50% that way they aren't actually turned off. If you can get seios, then get them.. I've heard alot about doing Maxi jet mods, that increases the power of the maxi-jet to almost as powerful as a tunze. but I've heard mixed reviews on those. But mostly I hear that after you do a mod on the maxi jet, they just don't last too long. But that was about a year ago. and maybe by now they figured some things out. and improved the mod.

I am starting to think that the tanze would be worth the money.
How many should i get for a 120 and how should i place them.
Thank you

All depends on how much flow you want. I would go with 2 6045 in addition to whatever pumps you have now and maybe get a 3rd or 4th depending what you see and think you need.

Do you think the 6060 is to much flow for my 120. The lfs has 6060 for like 145. He said he could get some 6045 but they would be allmost as much.

I would check into the koralia if I were you. they have the same gph as the 6045 less wattage , smaller, and half the price.....sounds like a no brainer to me. If i were you I would get 3 for that tank....just my .02

How about that 180g reef I will eventually have? How many would you suggest I get? I was about to buy some MJ1200s but would you suggest the Koralia 1200's?

an mj1200 without the mod only pushes 295 pgh. you would need about ten of em,unless you are talkign about the mj mods.
I Have 2 mods and I am adding the koralia at another 1200 gph.
I have 7500 gph in my tank right now with the mj's and closed loop and returns from fuge.

The Koralia look awesome!...this is the first time I've heard about them.
I'm doing some searching/research now, but it looks like I'm gonna order two of the 1200gph units for my 90gal.
Has anyone found any specs on their size, tho? (length, width, etc)

If I bought 3 of the Koralia's, where would you put them? One on each side... and the other?
