I question the post you made to the new member re: use of Fw equip in SW tank. it has always been my understanding that there are some parasites etc that can survive the transference long enough to possibly find a host where they may then cause problems. Is this not true? If you are certain of this then I will need to correct my thinking in this. thx

I will not claim to know with 100% certainty, there could be something that I have not heard of, but I am pretty positive that no FW parasite can live in SW. They cannot take the density of the water. If I am incorrect, please someone else chime in.

At the risk of sounding like I'm sucking up .... to anyone reading this I don't want them to think that Sep doesn't know his stuff - I have read countless posts by him and never questioned one before.

I do not know and have not read about any. If you wanted to make sure.... clean the equipment by soaking in a mixture of 10% bleach/ 90% water.
Then rinse well or use white vinegar. Again, rinse the equipment well.
I would remove any rubber part possible..especially with the vinegar because it will 'eat away' at the rubber.

I agree to give it a good cleaning anyway. BTW, rcoultas, I'm a female
I have no problem with anyone questioning anything. I make mistakes and there is plenty that I am not aware of. I am the first one to appologize when I am wrong about something

Don't we all? In his case it is pretty much true though isn't it? You are the "creator" and all you do is walk around him and cater to his every need.

Yeah. This fish is a brat! He comes when I call him and always wants something. I cannot walk by the tank without him following me. That is how he got his name. I was at the tank checking things and he followed me everywhere. I said, "you are an inquisitive little guy aren't you?" So his name became quizzy, and now it is 'Sir Quizzy'. I could not love him more if I tried though. Hawks are very cool fish

Thanx for the insight Sep - gtg now - finally getting tired. Let me know if you find a definitive answer to that though and I'll let you know if I do.
