I am sick of hearing about this. The President asked for it. Now he doesn't want it! The ridiculous thing is, Our presidenmt is stating all these people will be furloughed and ouit fo jobs in mass quantities. Nothing but smoke and mirrors. The first years cuts that go in effect soon total 22 billion dollars. Cutting 22 billion from a 4 trillion dollar spending habit. If 22 billion will cause all this catastrophic job loss and government shutdown, then we have some serious issues.
This is the equivalent of having a .5% pay cut and then telling everyone it will cause you to have to foreclose on your home and lose your cars!

Some of his claims are too rediculous to counter. They're just silly. The Executive Branch will need to choose what to cut for the most part but he keeps saying local police and Fire Departments will be cut. Why would he choose to cut those departments over research on why cats die when shot in the head?

It's going to bite 0bama in the butt if it happens. Not because it will be bad but because it's going to have such a small effect that he is going to lose a lot of credibility over it.

Police and fire department employees are paid by local governments, not the fed.
Obama does not want to deal with budget cuts during his tenure because budget cuts are painful. He can't play the benevolent all-caring leader if some things do get cut. Yes some will loose their jobs if billions are cut. If federal employees across the board took a pay cut, then the pain would be considerably less. And as government employees go, federal employees are generally paid well, with a lot of benefits.
Obama's promise during his 08 campaign was to go line by line to cut out the waste. Still waiting for that.

Considering the federal government reduced EVERYONE'S TAKE HOME PAY BY 2%,and we are expectedto get by just fine with that, I don't see why the fed can't reduce their spending by less than 2% and still get by. After all, they said we had to......
The fed removed 110 billion dollars a year from the economy......I think they can live with a removal of under one hundred billion dollars a year from their budget.

Stop providing Aid to Illegal Immigrants would more than Likely Cover the Whole Amount if not MORE. That and when they Left the USA would Provide JOBS for the Rest of America. Think about it 12 Million People LEAVE that would open 12 MILLION Jobs in this nation. Bang Unemployment is Gone at least by the Federal Numbers and Solved the Immigration Problem with Illegals.
