I have been running my 90 Gal saltwater tank for about a year and recently moved it last May when I moved into a new house. Since I moved my tank has developed a serious case of Red and Green Algae. I only on 1 Volitaire Lion Fish in the tank as of now. Can anyone suggest a remedy to this annoying problem
Thanks

Is the tank now in front of a window?
The increased sunlight from window view can cause blooms.

I had a bad cyano (red slime algae) attack in my reef tank about 6 months ago. I use r/o water, replaced my bulbs, cut back feeding; all the usual suspects. Finally in desperation I purchased a product called "Red Slime Remover" made by Ultralife Reef Products. My cyano is now gone, kapoot, not one sign in the 6 months since I used it. It did not harm any of my corals or fish. Do a seach on AltaVista under "Red Slime Remover" and you will find places on line if your lfs doesn't carry it.
If you do get it, when you use it, turn off the skimmer for 24 hours - it made mine go absolutely nuts.

I go for the natural remedy every time in dealing with algae - plants. Have some natural looking plants like Caulpera (forgot how to spell it) that look great, eat all the nutrients that would otherwise be eaten by algae (and encourage them to grow) and in turn provide much more attractive tank decor and food for tangs and the like. Give it a week to two weeks depending how much you put in. I'd recommend a clump of caulpera the size of two hands clamped together for every 20 gallons and just watch it grow, algae disappear and even the water look that tad cleaner.
Good luck!

Im with Aston. Always happy to see someone recommend the natural way, instead of adding more chemicals to your tank.
Find out what is feeding the algae, and remove it from the equation, or put something more desirable that eats the food, and it will get crowded out.
HTH!
