I have lost brittle stars and shrimp to my serpant star. It took me awhile to figure out who the culprate was but I'm fairly sure that the losses are the result of the serpant star.

Now I'm all paranoid!! I have a very large green serpent star (~10" tip-to-tip) who usually lives in a conch shell. He's never bothered anybody, and the funny thing is that my clown used to hang out in the conch shell with him! I do keep him fed pretty well; I hold a chunk of food near him and he comes out to grab it from me. VERY cool! Hope he stays friendly

I have never had any problems with my serpint or brittle stars eating my fish. I do know that the green serpint star is know to eat fish though. I do not have the green maybe that is why I have never had a problem

Get yourselves together!!! Stop freaking out!!!
If you will just feed the damn thing it won't have to eat your fish! I feed my green brittle every 3 days when I see him out and open. Hint- if you feed your fish and you see him going nuts - time to feed the poor guy! They need to be fed just like anything else. They can't just get by on eating fish waste, etc.
Good luck everyone! ;)

what were you feeding him? I can put in a nice 1/2"x1/2" piece of shrimp and he eats the whole thing. Sometimes it doesn't last him two days. They can eat a lot more than one would expect. This is interesting to me bc so many people have had different results with this specimen. Mine hasn't been naughty - yet
