Hi,
I'm setting up a tank and wonder if you might suggest what you think the ideal set up would be.
Live Rocks? What kind of fish?
The whole deal.
I have a 50 gallon tank with a uv lighted hood, wet/dry & skimmer.
Thanks very much for you advice,
David

For that size tank IMO live rock is always a good thing. Good bacteria grow on live rock that help with the condition of your tank. The fish depend on what you like to look at. One thing to remember is buy a fish that will not outgrow your tank. Big fish need a lot of room and a 50 gal. will be too small for some fish. Research everything before you buy.

It all boils down to the amount of money you want to spend, and amout of time you are abe to invest in tank maintenance. You could have a FO w/LR or have a reef tank with organisms that don't need bright lighting or the most pristine conditions, or if you have money to upgrade you culd purchase more lighting, lots of top-grade LR and live sand (saltwaterfish.com has some very good package deals), a big skimmer and have a magnificent reef tank with fragile organisms, and striking fish! It's up to you!
