beth Administrator Staff member Jul 26, 2016 #2 That can range from no sand to over 6 inches sandbed. Its a matter of preference and what you want to do with your tank. Personally, I love the sand. Its an ecosystem in and of itself, especially for a reef tank.

jay0705 Well-Known Member Jul 27, 2016 #3 Agreed. Type is personal preference. Fine,coarse ect. Not pool sand tho. You don't need live sand either. Regular dry argonite is good
