I just ordered a small 12" H.O.B. refugium for my 35 gal. tank. Should I put mud ore live sand in it and what kind of plants work best?

On the CPR HOB refuge, how does it transfer water back and forth? Is there anything big and bulky in the DT?

No there is a Maxjet 1200 to input the water which then goes into the protein skimmer,, then into the "GUTS" of the fuge and then in redistributed into the the DISPLAY tank due to normal gravity, but you need about 8" in the back of the tank,, atleast.

I have the large CPR HOB fuge. I think it works great. A little more flow in and out of the fuge would be nice, but is easily fixed with a bigger pump.

My main concern is an ugly bulky thing in the DT. I already had an overflow and took it out because it looked ugly. So what does it look like from the front view of your DT?

I don't think mine will be visible at all, the top should be lower than the aquarium light and the back of my tank is solid black so you can't see it through the tank.

my lights are off for the night so i will try to post one tomorrow.. The powerheads might be the only real bulky thing about it...

Here are a few bad pictures... I have what i think is a hair algea problem since i just cycled. I also have a HOB skimmer, which is why it seems extra crowded.

Hope these help you out!
