Setting up the tank?

Whats the first step in setting up the tank? Should i have all the sand and rock in the tank before i add water?
Should i run the filters while the "stand storm" is going on or wait for it to end?
How soon can i add a clean up crew? or should i not even add them during the cycle?
And can you use Tap water with the first fill?

Fill the tank alittle less than halfway, and get the sand as close to the bottom as possible before letting it go. Add it SLOWLY. Then place the LR being careful not to stir the sand to much. Add the rest of the water,SLOWLY and let it cycle.
Don't run the filter during the sandstorm (although if you do it right it should be minimal) it could damage it.
Don't add any livestock until the cycle is complete and all readings are 0. :D

no we are going to go with like 80% BR to keep costs down.. i was wondering the best place to put the LR to hopefully make it spread faster

Put the LR on top of the BR. Btween that and LS it will seed the BR and it will become LR also. :D
