shamefaced crab

well i was at my my lfs today and picked up a shamefaced crab . he is great and realy active and sifts throught the sand. i was wonderin if there is anything i should no about him.
o yea i also got a mandarin goby that eats frozen foods. so im excited bout him. So if theres any info u guys could share about the two that would be great! :happyfish

don't know what a shamefaced crab is, but what I can tell you is you should research and ask questions BEFORE you buy anything. I made a few impulse buys myself and later regretted it. Good luck.

They are also excellent at eating snails. Their hook like claws allow them to gouge the snails ou and they will attemp to eat your fish. These would do good in a species only tank though.

Most likely the mandarin since it spends a lot of time near the ground. They will keep trying to get your fish until they do. They are pretty good. When i lived in hawaii i was diving and saw one of those shameface crabs sitting on a rock by a school of small fish. Itll sit there while fish swim past and when fish get close enough he would jump at the fish. It was pretty cool to watch. Just make sure he is well fed...that might help prevent him from eating your fish.
