just a quick question well 2 of them 1st 1 is just making sure of your tank size 180 right, 2nd 1 is how much lr is in there if you can't remember a rough estimate will work( reason i am asking is your system is what i'm trying to strive for with my system, even though mine is a 150, close enough for me)...tobin

I traded with a guy that has better lights and they look bright red and pink, I only wish they looked that way in my tank, (hmmm maybe when i buy new light bulbs for the old fixture  ) I am the one highly interested in those blue zoos if you decide to frag, if not I am sure we can work something out, always in the market for anything...lol
Would you prefer me post the pictures on this thread or create a new one?

wow u have alot of light what kinda light setup u have?? very cool! i only have 3- 250W Phoenix 14K HQI bulbs running id do more if i could but my electric bill out here is just stupid already
id increase ur flow for sure.... i have about 35-40x's turnover in my tank using a closed loop some powerheads and the return pump.....
hmmm ur lookin for softy corals?? some LPS corals?? some SPS corals??
well i think every tank needs a nice branching hammer/torch/frogspawn they always look awesome and sway around.... a tank needs a few nice softies too ;-) such as toadstools, finger leathers, some xenia, colt.... etc.. just remember they grow pretty fast in right conditions so fraggin will be necessary.... other colorful softies are always some zoas and mushrooms/ricordias i use them as filler corals inbetween my sps and stuff to add color to the tank.... some nice acans always look good IMO, maybe a bright chalice they have some awesome pinks and reds out there, as for SPS corals i like a variety some bushy some tables some stags and all kinda of colors... one of my favs is the millepora acro i have about 6 varieties of this coral always great polyps and awesome colors
hope that helps a lil and thanks u for the nice compliments

deffinately i have a very big frogspawn which is an awesome coral to have just remember they tend to take up alot of room and they like to be placed lower in the tank due to light and kinda out of high flow areas mines over in the far left lower corner of the tank

forgot to mention in the last post you asked about my lighting 3x250w mh 4x96w actinic total 1134w plus 8 moonlights with 7 built-in cooling fans, so i'm ready with lights, i want to add another 3000gph that would give me 28.7 turnover, if i add 4000gph that would be 33.5 turnover rate so i'll probably start with the 3000gph then add my 1st corals then just keep adding more flow as i go unless they make a pump i can do it all in one shot that is...tobin

my bulbs are double-ended 250w 10000k i think i'm going to replace them with 14000k in about 10 months these are btoo yellow for my liking, as far as pumps go i tend to like my rio 3100 it's quiet and been trouble free for me, but i need to add another 5000 gph to get to 38x turnover i'll get 700 gph when i get my mag-7 for my new skimmer, so i will still need 4300 gph, and i'm running out of outlets so i will need a big pump, any suggestions?...tobin

well u need some in tank flow the only thing i can suggest is powerheads.... like i said the Seios works good IMO for the $$$ the best out there are tunzee's but very pricey get 2 of those on a wave maker and ur set but ur lookin at spending upwards of $750 brand new

in tank i have 2145gph or a turnover of 14.3 and in the sump/fuge i have 13.4 turnover rate now i probably did the math wrong so please double check me, in the dt i added the return pump and the powerheads and divided by 150, and in the sump/fuge i added the powerheads and the filter turnover rate but i did not add the 2 overflows which i do not know how much they dump in per hour oh the sump fuge is a 55 gal total water volume is 205 gal. between both i have 2885gph hope that helps thanks murph..tobin

basically what ur concerened with is getting upwatrds of 30gph of turnover inside the display tank.... i dont calculate anything in my sump other than what the return pump puts back into my display tank which is about 900gph the rest i get from my closed loop and seio powerheads

ok i'll move some stuff around tomorrow and get more in the dt and less in the sump, that way it will get me up to 17x without costing anything quite yet thanks murph again hope i don't bother you with all this rookie type questions...tobin
