shark for a 90 gal.

Sorry, no. A 90 gallon tank is not large enough. Also, a shark would not be well suited for a reef. Even if it doesn't eat your inverts and other fish (which there is a really good chance it will), there is a good chance it will damage your corals while swimming around by knocking over the rocks. If you really want a shark you need to dedicate a 200-300 gallon tank to it minimum.

Not to be mean but the words shark and reef tank should not go together... also a 90 gallon tank is to small for all but the smallest baby sharks, and even then you would need to get it a new tank in less then 6 months anyways.
I completely agree with the dedicated 250 - 300 gallon tank...

6 inches at birth. Over 18 inches 9 months later. Get a 300 if you want a shark. They get big and it doesn't take that long.

Hi
Check out the public aquariums They
have lots of experience with large predators
As I recall the smallest was around 2000
gallons and round becase of their difficulty turning corners.Even at that size they recommended only species that mature at under six feet. You'll need lots of filtration as they're very sloppy eaters.

Sharks are cool!! I have a leopard shark in a 125g tank. No other fish in it but sharks. But they can't live in it forever. I'm thinking about donating it to sea world when it gets a litte bigger.

im surprised no one said this.. you could get a bamboo cat shark ..even buy an egg hatch it yourself and raise one.. while eventually it will outgrow the setup it will take a long time
good luck

but if its your first shark its not smart to try to start with an egg. If you do get one get one you see eat first
