It was there when we left on Thurs. Fish si(s)ter could not find it on Fri,nor Sat and we came home today and it's still gone! We can not find any sign of it anywhere, not rocks, pumps, filters etc. No blobs, no pieces, no smell. Everyone else is fine, water tests for amm-0, nitrite 0, nitrate - 20 (usual) Only thing to happen recently is big hole blown in dsb by powerhead and we added a queen conch (1 inch) and some nassarius snails, about a week ago. There is a big diatom bloom going on now but thought that was probably related to the dsb mess...anyway sorry to make this so long but that is my info. What could have happened?? It's been missing for 3 days. If I don't find it and it's dead somewhere what would happen to my tank?

I have heard of anenomes getting sucked into powerheads, did you check the powerhead? I have found my condy underneath liverock, so you might look under the rockwork. Good luck

Wrassecal,
It could be under rocks, in you filter intake (they tend to do that)Have you checked all you power heads, and filter intake??
Or if it is in the tank, and died, you numbers will spike..I would test everyday..and to help with your bloom, try cutting back alittle on feeding right now...that will help...you can also do some water changes..
Hope you find it..

We have checked the filter intakes the powerheads took em apart cleaned them out, everything and looked under all the rocks except the 2 main base rocks which we can't move. It would have had to dig under the sand to get under them. We've looked in all the nooks and crannies with a flashlight. Can not find a trace anywhere and no spikes of any kind yet (crossing fingers) This is just strange!

I had a beautiful purple long tentacle that did the same thing...he always hung out in one spot, and my Domino adopted it, we went away for 3 days, came back and it was completely gone...I still have no clue where it went..

Debi,
Been following this thread since you posted it, but did not reply. Was hoping you'd pop back and say you found it.
I had a condy that retracted and withdrew into a small ( I mean SMALL ) crevice in the rockwork.
All I could see was very tip of it barely sticking out.
This happened 2-3 days after introducing it to the tank.
It stayed like that for a couple days. Eventually it inflated back up and all was fine.
It may still be in there somewhere you can't see, or it may have died.
How big a condy was this guy ?
I'd take Susie's advise, and keep monitoring the water for ammonia/nitrite, and I guess keep looking for it.
Very odd.

Pretty big Broomer5, could stretch out to size of salad plate and 6 inches tall or down to about ping pong ball size, been in tank for 3 months now. So lets hope I end up feeling foolish when I get home from work and it's back in it's usual place!

DANGIT! Still no condy and I came home to find one of the bubble tips moved from it's most excellent place to sit on top of the green star polyps...something is going on in there but I can't get the fish to tell me what it is.
