Hey there guys i jst got back from my trip to florida. While i was there i found quite a few neat shells on the beach. Are these safe to put in my tank? mostly there are small conch shells and some larger clam shells. Thanks Mad

I picked up shells from the ocean too. I boiled them then put them in a cup with a little bleach to kill anything in or on them. Soak them for a day, rinse them out good, then boil them good.

After the hurricanes hit the Gulf Coast, there were many wonderful shells all over the beaches. I must have gathered enough shells to last my hermits a lifetime. I just boiled some water and dumped the shells in for 3 minutes. That should be sufficient to kill anything.
