Shells

can you have to many of them will they trap waste.
Whats everyone do with there extra shells. I kow the crabs need to be able to move into some from time to time, but the sand that i got from LFS was packed with empty shells ( came out of their invert display tank). kinda clutters the tank so i placed them in back of the live rock for now kinda made a shell graveyard of sorts.
Whats everyone else do.

I've got extra shells for my hermits all along the back wall of the tank in and behind the rocks, also in the back corners... I dont have any in plain view... I keep em inthe back for the little guys ... I also noticed some britsle worms living in one....

I clean mine out now and then.....the ones I can reach. I just drop in a few of each size and they seem to do fine.
