Can I put Shells that I got from the gulf in my tank with out any problems?

they should be fine...but i'd boil them or something just incase. ya never know what kind of junk the natives were dumping in the water near where those shells were.

Certainly. If they have a deep ******** then pull them out every so often to clean them. You don't want any buildup decaying in there.

Only problem is the coraline algae will soon cover them up leaving them not as nice looking.

This is the only problem with shells IMO
you could take them out, and scrub them untill all of the coraline is off.

Maybe thats the only way I can grow Coraline Algae is to put them in.
