The leather needs to be in water. If you were just shipping the rock the newspaper would be fine, but coral needs to be bagged like fish.
The critter, be it a fish or coral should be double bagged then placed in a styrofoam box with heat pads if needed, and pack it with news paper to keep it from moving and bouncing around. Seal it all up with box tape and put in a box. A perfect fit box is best, but you can pack newspaper to keep the styrofoam in place so it doesn't shift around.

The only difference with a coral and a live fish, is the coral does not need a lot of air.....BUT make sure no matter what way the bag (or box) is turned, that the coral will always be covered.....

SWF packs the corals and fish with air...except sponges. It makes sense to make sure they are always covered. Interesting, I never really thought much about it.

Most corals I have received have very little air as opposed to the fish where the bag is half full (or half empty HEEHEE) of air
I just received some sps from a "person" and they were in teeny baggies with a little water.....seemed like it was just enough to keep them covered...but no air
